How much is my house worth?

To get a ball park figure of the value of your home, I recommend checking out Zillow's Zestimates at https://www.zillow.com/how-much-is-my-home-worth/.  Although this is a good first glance as to where your homes value may be, there are a lot more factors to consider such as:

  • Regardless of what Zillow says, your home's value will only be relative to what other similar homes have sold for in your neighborhood.  A buyer paying cash may for some reason pay more than other recently sold homes based on market conditions, but a buyer who is financing the purchase will rely on a bank who's objective is to ensure that they don't provide a loan for more than the property is worth based on recently sold homes.
  • Zillow has no idea about the improvements or lack of improvements that you've made to your home which can affect it's value.
  • Communities often have unique attributes and characteristics for which Zestimates can't necessarily account for.
