It's one thing if you were testing the market and your listing expired, but something entirely different if you wanted or needed your property to sell but it didn't. There will be cases where for whatever reason a property may not sell even though all the best efforts were put forth, but these cases should be far and few between. As mentioned before, it's my goal to help owners sell their properties and not to test the market.
In the event that your listing has expired without the sale of your home, I understand that you may be frustrated regarding the process, potentially embarrassed, and at a crossroads. Please give me the opportunity to speak with you to better understand why the property did not sell and to make a determination if I believe that I can sell your property based on your requirements and constraints.
As a software engineer it's critical that we fully understand the requirements of our customer up front for two key reasons:
1. To determine if we can do what is being asked.
2. To ensure that we are delivering exactly what has been asked.
It's my job to deliver on what has been asked based on the training that I have received, as the customer you know what you want, but may not understand the technical details of how to get there. Similarly in Real Estate I've been trained to help you achieve your goal of a sale, and not to train you on how to become a Realtor. However throughout the process because of our communication you will get a better appreciation of the process, as it will be my job to communicate to you to the best of my ability some of the details and inner workings of how we are progressing, but it's important that I help you to focus on the What (selling your home), as I focus on the how.
